January 2010

Happy New Year!! We had a wonderful 2009 and we are looking forward to the joys of 2010. Once again, we are behind on the updates so I'm going to do a whirl wind January!!

We had the joy of celebrating Grandma's 72nd Birthday in late January. It was a wonderful time and it was nice to have us all together with no kiddo's. That makes dinner so much quieter!!

Brock got to get on his Hockey skates for the first time on January 17th. He likes to be on them in the house but was not to sure about being on the ice. I put on my skates too for the first time on many years. It was fun and I know that I had more fun than Brock did at the rink! LOL.

Grandpa Wally put out some Beaver traps this year and he had some big helpers when it came time to go check them! I was extremely impressed that Brock and Dominic made the entire journey down tot he lake and back up by themselves. It was quite a hike but there was no complaining and they walked without being carried! They really liked the fact that they got to help grandpa get the beaver back to the truck! It's awesome to remember all the days of trapping with my dad when I was Brock's age and we are so blessed that he can spend the same quality time making memories with our children.

Well, miss Taylor was at the house a couple times this month. She and Brock are just hilarious to watch. They read books and jump on the bed like monkeys and play pretend now. I can't wait till Drayke is able to join them!!!

Brock is still in daycare a couple days a week and he really enjoys it. He has changed so much and so fast. He is coming up with the craziest sentences and can do this complete alphabet, count to 10, spell his name and tons of other things. He bring s us home lots of artwork and projects to hang around the house.
Drayke is just like Twig, so laid back and doesn't have a care in the world. He smiles all the time and just is so happy to be around people. I think back to he NICU days and can't believe that is was almost a year ago that we was born. He brings us more joy than I ever could have imagined. He is finally rolling over and moving a little more. He just had to do it in his own time frame I guess.
Well, can't think of much more now that was exciting in January so I will get February updated soon!!

December 2009

I finally got my kitchen completed!!! Matt came over and did the backsplash..I love it!!

Drayke is changing every day. He still has not gotten the urge to crawk or move very much. He just hangs out and smiles. He knows how to get Brock to get him whatever he needs, he just cries and whines and there Brock goes.....Drayke just sits back and smiles some more! They do play together very well.

Boys love to play together when it is time to eat! I know he is throwing food but it was too cute!

Brock got Drayke to get up on his knees and tried to get him to crawl. Drayke just stared at hima nd them had to lay down...I guess it was just too much work!

We didn't do too uch excitting stuff this month. The boys got me a DQ cake for my birthday and made me dinner, I really appreciated it.

We did welcome a new cousin into the world on December 18th, Ava Christine. She is adorable and Gracie just loves her to pieces. She made usre to tell everyone that Ava was her little sister and that could not take her home with them!!

November 2009

November was full of all sorts of family time! The boys got to play with all the cousins on both sides for Thanksgiving. Brock has been into wanting to cuddle with Drayke on the chair every morning. He will ask me to go get him and then wants his picture taken, thye are so much fun!! Brock has a very special bond with Grandma Shirley, that kid just can't get enough of her!

Halloween 2009

Oh, my...I'm a couple months behind, sorry everyone.

Drayke is getting so big, much faster than I remember Brock! Hard to believe his is 7 months old in this picture. Drayke and Brock were skeletons for Halloween. Brock wasn't much for walking around in the cold to get candy. Drayke just hung out in the wagon and smiled like always. The boys get along pretty well most of the time. Brock is in for a rude awakening when Drayke decides that he wants to move around.......I can't wait.

New Adventures

This summer has been packed with all kinds of fun stuff. Here are some pictures from Uncle Eric & Aunt Jenny's house. We got to play with Luke and Jack, go to the Wisconsin State Fair and Japanese for Dinnner....Yummy. I wish we could see them more often, Brock had a great time. We also got to spend a night with the Braun Family and play with Catie!! Brock is hoping she can spend a couple days with us before school starts again.

Brock started Day Care in the beginning of August. HE had a rough first week but it is getting better every time he goes. He loves doing all the crafty stuff and of course, playing outside in the sand! Here is a picture from his first day, before the meltdown happened!!

We took the boys ti the Antigo Fair too. Brock rode the Tila A Whirl with Daddy, he was not to sure about it!! He loved all the animals and the Polka Dancing Ladies.
Great Uncle Bob lives back in town so we get to go see him once in a while. He enjoys the boys for short time peroids. Drayke loves it when he talks, it makes him laugh!!

Just some pictures from around the house. They boys are doing very well. Drayke will be 5 months old on the 27th already and Brock is 26 months old. Life is great and all we can do is take it one day at a time and enjoy every moment!!

Grandma & Grandpa's 50th Wedding Annversary Party

We had a Blast!! Grandma and Grandpa really enjoyed themselves. Most of the family was there at some point and their closest 4 family frineds too. We heard lots of stories and laughs. We are so lucky to have them in good health and hopefully that stays for another 50 years!!

A day of trying new things!

We went to Minocqua with Grammy and Grandpa D yesterday. We ate at Paul Bunyon's and then went and seen Carrie at Eichenholz. Then, we took Brock to the Go Kart track and he loved it!! He just wanted to catch Grandpa but our kart just wasn't fast enough. He smiled and wante to go faster, then told me " mama drive crazy!" Then I had this good idea that he should ride the ponys, he went over there and picked out the one he wasnted to ride, Buttercup. He was excited until she kept stopping and making all these god awful noises and it scared him. Buttercup and Brock did not remain friends for long, but he did say bye to her and told her he would see her later, poor Buttercup! He did not cry but was not to sure about the whole ordeal. I think he felt much more comfortable on the concrete horse!!

Mom, There's Thomas!!

Well, Thomas was a hit! Brock could not even look at us, he was in complete and utter Thomas overload, but in a good way! He loved the train ride with Thomas and the whole National Railroad Museum. He liked looking at all the trains, he counted their wheels and said all of there colors. It was actually very educational. We got to take a 1/2 hour train ride with Thomas, he got to take pictures with him and Sir Topemhat. He got a Thomas Tatoo, played with lots of Thomas trains sets, and of course got to pick out some stuff from the huge Thomas the train Gift Tent! He picked a T-Shirt and a placemat. Drayke got to stay and play with aunt Brenda which worked out awsome that Brock got all of our attention for his big day. It made the day much easier especially with all the crazy kids running around. He said bye to Thomas and told him he would be back next year to see him and take his brother for a ride. He blew him kisses and told him he loved him. It was so adorable, he talked to him until he couldn't see him anymore. I think it was a successful 2nd Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Brock

Oh my gosh, Brock is 2!! The big day was a little bit of a downer, both of the boys were sick with Pink Eye and Ear Infections. We had a cake with just us and made the best of it. He had a Birthday Party planned but we had to cancel it becuase of them being sick. He got tons of Thomas the Train stuff.....I never got this much cool stuff for any of my birthdays, he is spoiled!! He got a Thomas bedding set from Grandpa and Granma D and Tons of Thomas Books from Grandma and Grandpa A. Our house and his room is decked out in Thomas crap. For one of his presents, we are taking him to see Thomas the Train in Green Bay. We hope he will enjoy it.

Drayke was also 10 weeks old on Brock's Birthday. He is doing well, growing really fast lately. He is laughing and cooing up a storm.

6 Weeks old and 23 Months old

Wow, time is flying by this year. Brock just turned 23 months old and Drayke 6 weeks. They are both doing very well. Brock loves the warm weather, he would spend all day outside if he could. Drayke is smiling up a storm the past week. It is very cute and fun to watch him develop a personality and change. He love to swing in the garage, he hangs out in there while we play outside so can be close but not in the sun. Twig and I are doing well too. We are just waiting to get some more landscaping done so our kids can have a yard to play in! Some days I think Brock will miss all the dirt, but I sure won't, he tends to drag half of it in the house with him at night!! Brock and I spend alot of time 4 wheeling, he has his helmet and glasses and so do I. He loves riding. The little stinker figured out how to turn on the 4 wheeler, good thing he can't reach the shifter yet!! I have to take the key out now.....he is too smart for his own good!! Hard to belive that Brock is almost 2...where in the heck did all the time go?
